UK headline:-
In the 215 days so far this year, the US has seen 252 mass shootings – an average of more than one a day. (MetroUK).
Sigh. I’m sympathetic towards those who have lost someone BUT it’s absolutely nothing to do with the UK. Except that doesn’t stop out media coming out with idiot comparisons and stupid quotes.
This from the US.
Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, said: ‘The NRA (National Rifle Association) want us to believe only good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns. ‘But when the bad guys have semiautomatic rifles, bulk ammo and a death wish, the only thing that will stop them are stronger gun laws.’
No Shannon, the only thing that could stop bad guys in an instant is the law abiding having guns WITH THEM and using them in the defence of others, because if you have disarm the law abiding you have to wait for the police!
You know, them who always seem to arrive fashionable late.
Then its the idiot media comment:-
In the UK, gun laws were overhauled after the Dunblane school massacre of 1996. Handguns were effectively banned except for in Northern Ireland, where personal protection is accepted as a legitimate reason to obtain and own a firearm. Wow, how good is that! Only how exactly does an “AK47-styled assault rifle” compare to a handgun again?
But all this legislation means gun crime shouldn’t happen in the UK.
Yeah right:-
Recorded non-air firearm offences. In the year ending 31 March 2017, there were a total of 6,375 firearm offences recorded in the England & Wales. This was an increase of 23% compared with 5,182 offences recorded during the year ending 31 March 2016.
6375 firearms offences, How can that be?
After all the law abiding have no access to handguns anymore.
Since 2008/09, handguns have remained the most commonly used non-air
firearm type, accounting for 42% of non-air firearm offences in 2016/17.
So that’s 2678 then! All non legal firearms.
Which kinda makes my point!
The law abiding have been reduced to active targets for the bad guys to shoot at as they have NOTHING to deter or stop them from doing so.
There isn’t a single law that will stop someone with the intent, or even the lack of intent, to kill another person. Whether it is a firearm, alcohol or drug induced, or vehicular, people will die because there is evil in this world and new laws are nothing but a feel-good and knee jerk reaction. Also, the definition for “mass shooting” seems to change daily and used when it fits the narrative of a politician. What’s even funnier or sad? Gun free zones. HaHa! How moronic. Oh yeah, Shannon Watts is one of the ultimate alarmists in the ” No one should have guns ” arena.

Wow! 252 mass killings–that number seems awfully high. Did the article mention how they define a “mass killing”? I would think that I would have heard of that many mass killings on the various media if it were really true. Do tell.

The article is here but there are multiple source.
What makes a mass killing, today?
A mass shooting is defined as one in which at least four or more were shot in a single spree.
Which is about the same as a moderate sized multiple car crash on the roads.
Yet the politicians never say that’s a mass killing do they?
No, what riles me is the law abiding are constantly hamstrung by “ban this and that” laws that just make us more vulnerable. Laws that the bad in life simply ignore.
As a consequence of seeing the results of knife and gun crime CARRIED OUT BY THE LAWLESS it’s with good reason that I always tell SWMBO to be careful on her dog walk and that I love her.
